Sharon Cooper is a creative director, artist, speaker and writer based in Melbourne.
Born in Hong Kong, Sharon has spent her years observing life through the language of wonder; translating beauty and loss from one culture to another, one story at a time. As curiosity sparks imagination, so does our search for meaning and beauty increase.
Combining her love for the arts with social justice, Sharon co-founded and lead the creative direction on Spark the Future - a charity art gala. Together with 23 local Australian artists, Spark the Future raised significant funds for Australian charities tackling homelessness during 2013-2014.
From there, Sharon continued to develop her own practices in brush lettering, photography, and watercolour illustration. By 2017, Scripted by Sharon was launched, specialising in wedding stationery services, lettering workshops as well as private art commissions.
The pandemic years saw a spike in feelings of collective isolation. In the middle of 2020, From My 5kms to Yours was born - a project welcoming photo submissions which were later turned into watercolour illustrations. These handpainted pieces were sold with all funds donated to Many Rooms, an intiative which seeks to feed those in need.
Sharon also enjoys creating spaces where community is built through exploring the big questions of life and discovering Jesus in the Bible. She holds qualifications in both finance and theology.
Sharon and her husband Greg love being part of City On a Hill in Melbourne; the city of coffee, art, and infinite stories.
